PM: Russia undecided on allowing Turkish food imports

VYRUBOVO VILLAGE, Moscow Region, Jul 5 (PRIME) -- The Russian government has not yet decided on the abolishment of Turkish vegetable imports, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Tuesday.

A source in the government told PRIME on Monday that Medvedev plans to discuss permission to restart Turkish products supplies on Tuesday at a meeting with the government’s commission for agricultural issues.

Medvedev said: “We have made no decision, we will discuss these things with the Turkish partners but it does not mean that we will run and open (access) straightaway.”

Earlier in July, President Vladimir Putin signed a ruling to abolish a prohibition to sell tours to Turkey and to carry charter flights, after receiving Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s letter with condolences to the family of a jet pilot shot down last year. The rest of the restrictions remain in force.
